Your erstwhile adventurer in international travel is headed out to bag a bunch of big bucket list items. We are headed to SE Asia on a two-week Holland America cruise on the ms Volendam. Singapore to Hong Kong, featuring an overland excursion to Angkor Wat in Cambodia. We’ll hit Bangkok’s temples and Vietnam’s bustling cities. I’m still racing through Vietnam History: Stories Retold for a new Generation, written and compiled by Vietnamese authors. We’ll start with three days in Singapore. It will take all of that to begin to sort out the several cultural influences in this global crossroads. We’ll report back in three weeks. If connectivity is available and affordable, we will send reports from the road.
